Legal Invoice Generator
A solicitor’s bill with time entries, disbursements and VAT treated correctly.
Create a valid UBL 2.1 invoice or credit note XML, with the EN 16931 rules checked live.
The UBL Invoice Generator writes a UBL 2.1 Invoice or CreditNote XML from a simple invoice form, in EN 16931, Peppol or XRechnung flavour, with schema element order, currency-tagged amounts and the business rules checked as you type.
UBL — the Universal Business Language — is the OASIS XML standard behind most of the world’s e-invoices. Peppol uses it, Denmark’s OIOUBL is built on it, XRechnung accepts it, and nearly every accounting system that imports e-invoices reads it. It is also unforgiving: element order is part of the schema, and the totals must reconcile exactly.
This builds the UBL for you from an ordinary invoice form. Fill in the parties, lines and VAT, and the Invoice XML is written live beside it — or a CreditNote, with its own root element and CreditedQuantity, when the document is a credit note. Elements come out in schema order, amounts to two decimals with their currencyID, VAT broken down by category, allowances and charges as their own AllowanceCharge blocks.
Choose plain EN 16931, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 or XRechnung and the specification identifier and the rules checked change with it. The XML is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Children in the sequence the UBL schema requires.
The correct root, line and quantity elements for each.
EN 16931, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 or XRechnung identifiers.
Discounts and shipping as proper AllowanceCharge blocks.
Business rules re-checked on every change.
Or press Sample for a complete example to adapt.
EN 16931, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 or XRechnung.
Anything that would fail validation is listed with the fix.
A UBL 2.1 Invoice, or a CreditNote for a credit.
UBL 2.1, the version EN 16931, Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and XRechnung specify. The namespaces are the standard OASIS Invoice-2 and CreditNote-2 ones.
As a UBL CreditNote document with type code 381, CreditNoteLine elements and positive amounts — not as an Invoice with negative numbers, which Peppol rejects.
The UBL schema defines a fixed sequence of children. An invoice with its TaxTotal after LegalMonetaryTotal fails schema validation however correct the figures are, so the order here follows the schema exactly.
Yes, but it is safer to change the form and regenerate, because the totals and the VAT breakdown are derived from the lines and must stay consistent.
