Privacy Policy

The short version: the content you put into these tools never leaves your device, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Who we are

ToolQivo (toolqivo.com) is operated by ToolQivo. For anything in this policy — a question, a request, a complaint — write to toolqivo@gmail.com. We are the controller of the small amount of personal data described below.

This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site. It covers every page on toolqivo.com, and it is written to be read rather than to be survived.

Content you put into the tools

Every tool on ToolQivo runs entirely in your browser. The text you paste, the files you open and the results that come back are processed on your own device by JavaScript. They are not transmitted to our servers, not stored, and not logged. We could not read them if we wanted to — there is no upload endpoint on this site to read them from.

Some tools remember a preference locally — a chosen unit, a last-used option, your list of favourite tools — using your browser's own storage. That stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Information we do collect

Very little, and none of it is used to build a profile of you.

  • Server logs. Like any website, our server records standard request information when you load a page: the URL requested, the time, the browser's user agent string and the IP address the request came from. This keeps the site running and lets us spot abuse and attacks.
  • Aggregate analytics. Page views, approximate country, device type and referring site, counted in aggregate so we know which tools matter. This does not identify you and never captures anything you typed into a tool.
  • Our own tool counters. For each tool we keep a daily total: how many times its page was opened, how many times the tool was actually used, and roughly how long the page was open. It is stored as one row per tool per day — "the word counter was used 40 times today" — with no identifier, no IP address and no way to tie it back to a person or a visit.
  • Error reports. If a page breaks in your browser — a script crashes or a file fails to load — the page tells us which page it was, the error message, where in our code it happened, and your browser's name and major version (for example "Chrome 128"). Anything you typed is removed from the message before it is sent, and no IP address, identifier or tool content is kept with it. We use these reports only to find and fix broken tools.
  • Reviews you post. If you rate a tool, we store the name you typed, the star rating, the review text and the date, and we publish all four on that tool's page. That is the whole record — no email address, no IP address and nothing tying it to anything else you did on the site. Please do not put personal details in a review; it is a public page. Ask us and we will remove yours.
  • What you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. That is used to answer you, and nothing else. The contact form stores nothing on this site: it relays the message to our inbox and forgets it.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with data brokers, and we have no account system, no newsletter list you were added to silently, and no cross-site tracking of our own.

Why we are allowed to do this

For visitors in the UK and the European Economic Area, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR require us to name a legal basis for each use:

  • Legitimate interests — server logs, aggregate counters and error reports, so the site stays available, secure and worth improving. The data is minimal and cannot identify you, so the impact on your privacy is very low.
  • Consent — advertising and analytics cookies, where the law requires consent. You may refuse or withdraw it at any time, and the tools keep working either way.
  • Legitimate interests — answering a message you chose to send us.
  • Legitimate interests — publishing a review you chose to write, so other visitors can see what people make of a tool.
  • Legal obligation — where we have to keep or disclose something by law.

Cookies

The site sets a session cookie required for basic operation and security. Where advertising is enabled, our advertising partner may set its own cookies to limit repetition and measure performance. Every cookie that can be set, and how to refuse each one, is listed in the cookie policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the tools will continue to work.

Advertising

Advertising is what keeps every tool free. Where ads appear, they are served by Google AdSense and its certified partners.

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet, where you have permitted that.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google My Ad Center, or opt out of many vendors at once at optout.aboutads.info.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads here, and their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies. What Google collects is described in the Google partner-sites notice.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent message from a certified consent management platform is shown before advertising cookies are set, and your choice is passed to our advertising partners. Refusing personalisation gives you less relevant ads, not fewer tools. Our advertising disclosure explains the whole arrangement, including where ads are and are not allowed to appear.

Third parties who process data for us

  • Our hosting provider, which operates the servers the site runs on and holds the request logs.
  • A font provider, which serves the site's typeface.
  • Our analytics provider, where analytics is enabled.
  • Google AdSense, where advertising is enabled.
  • Our email provider, which carries messages you send us.

Each receives your IP address and user agent as part of serving a request, as they would for any site. No tool content is ever passed to any of them, because it never leaves your browser in the first place.

International transfers

Some of those providers operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or the EEA, it is protected by the safeguards those providers put in place — typically the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, the UK addendum to them, or an adequacy decision such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long anything is kept

  • Server logs — a short rolling window, normally no more than 30 days, then discarded.
  • Aggregate tool counters — kept as daily totals with no identifier, so there is nothing personal in them to expire.
  • Error reports — kept until the problem is fixed and the report is cleared; they hold nothing that identifies you.
  • Messages you send us — kept while the conversation is useful, and deleted when it is not.
  • Reviews — published until you ask us to remove yours, or we remove it for breaking the rules on the page.
  • Tool content — never received, so never retained.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against cross-site request forgery, and the endpoints that accept a request are rate limited. The strongest protection here is architectural rather than procedural: the thing most worth stealing — what you put into the tools — is never collected, so it cannot be leaked by us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, to withdraw consent, and to receive it in a portable form. Under the UK and EU GDPR all of these apply; under the California Consumer Privacy Act you also have the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising of our own.

In practice there is very little to give you: no account, no profile, and no record of what you did with a tool. Write to toolqivo@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority — in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office — though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to toolqivo@gmail.com and it will be deleted.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not track you across other websites, so a Do Not Track header changes nothing about what we do. A Global Privacy Control signal, where your browser sends one, is treated as an opt-out of personalised advertising.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the change is made before the practice it describes begins. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
