About the International Invoice Generator

Invoicing across a border adds four problems to an ordinary invoice: which currency, which tax treatment, how the money actually arrives, and whose conventions the document follows. Getting any of them wrong delays payment by weeks, because the invoice sits in a queue while somebody works out what to do with it.

This builder handles all four. Fifty currencies with correct symbols, decimal places and digit grouping — including the lakh-and-crore grouping the subcontinent reads. Seven date formats, because 03/04/2026 is March in New York and April in London. A payment block with IBAN, SWIFT, routing number and sort code so the invoice works for a SEPA transfer, an ACH payment and a SWIFT wire alike. And a tax note field for the reverse-charge or zero-rating wording a cross-border supply needs.

There is a place for both tax registration numbers, which a B2B supply between countries usually requires, and the amount in words for markets that expect it.

How to use the International Invoice Generator

  1. 1

    Pick the client’s currency

Symbol, decimals and digit grouping all follow it — including lakh and crore for South Asia.

  2. 2

Set the date format they read

Write the month as a word if in any doubt. It removes the ambiguity entirely.

  3. 3

    Add both tax numbers

Most cross-border B2B supplies need the customer’s registration number on the invoice.

  4. 4

Fill in the full payment block

IBAN and SWIFT for Europe, routing number for the US, sort code for the UK. Include the bank’s address for a wire.

  5. 5

    Add the tax wording

Reverse charge, zero-rated export, or whatever applies to the supply.

Frequently asked questions

Whichever your contract says. Invoicing in your own currency puts the exchange risk on the client; invoicing in theirs puts it on you. Whatever you choose, state the currency explicitly — "$" alone is ambiguous across at least eight currencies.
