The TOML to YAML Converter turns Cargo, Hugo and pyproject configuration into YAML, quoting the strings YAML would otherwise read as booleans or dates so no value changes meaning.
You have a Cargo.toml, a pyproject.toml or a Hugo config and you need the same settings as YAML — for a CI pipeline, a Kubernetes manifest, a Helm values file or a tool that only reads YAML. The structures map cleanly, but YAML’s habit of reading bare words as booleans and dates makes a careless conversion dangerous.
Paste TOML and get YAML. [tables] become nested mappings, [[arrays of tables]] become lists of mappings, and inline tables and arrays are expanded. Strings that YAML would otherwise read as something else — yes, no, on, off, null, 1.0, a bare date — are quoted automatically, so no value changes meaning on the way across. Choose the indent and whether every string is quoted, and check the key count to confirm nothing was lost.
[tables] and dotted names nest exactly as they should.
[[entries]] become a YAML list of mappings.
yes, no, on, off, 1.0 and bare dates are quoted so they stay strings.
{ a = 1, b = 2 } becomes a normal nested mapping.
Compare the counts to confirm nothing was lost in the conversion.
Cargo.toml, pyproject.toml, config.toml or any TOML file.
Two spaces is the usual YAML house style; four suits some linters.
Quote only where YAML needs it, or quote every string for safety.
Paste it into your pipeline, manifest or values file.
Because YAML reads yes, no, on, off, null, 1.0 and dates as non-strings. Quoting them keeps them as the text TOML held, which is the whole point of a faithful conversion.
Each entry becomes an item in a YAML list of mappings — the same structure, written the way YAML writes it.
Yes. TOML dates and date-times are ISO 8601, and YAML reads the same form, so they are written through unchanged.
Yes. Inline tables { a = 1 } become nested mappings, and TOML’s triple-quoted strings become YAML block or quoted strings depending on their content.
