Invoice Amount Extractor
Pull the total, subtotal, tax and every other amount out of an invoice.
Work out a delivery charge by weight, value, zone or free-shipping threshold.
The Invoice Shipping Calculator works a delivery charge out by flat rate, weight, volumetric weight, order value, zone or free-shipping threshold — using whichever weight is greater, which is what every courier actually bills on.
Shipping on an invoice is a number somebody has to justify, and the two ways it goes wrong are charging by actual weight when the carrier charges by volumetric weight, and forgetting that in most of Europe delivery charged alongside taxable goods takes the tax rate of those goods.
This works the charge out by whichever basis you use: a flat rate, a rate per kilogram, a percentage of order value, a zone table, or a free-shipping threshold with a charge below it. It calculates volumetric weight from the dimensions and uses whichever is greater, which is what every courier actually bills on — a box of cushions weighing two kilograms is charged as fifteen.
It also shows the margin on the charge: what the carrier costs you against what you are charging, as an amount and a percentage. Shipping is one of the few lines on an invoice where the customer can check your cost, so knowing where you stand on it is worth the ten seconds.

Flat, by weight, by value, by zone, or free over a threshold.
Volumetric weight is worked out and the greater of the two is used.
So the margin on the charge is visible.

A carrier’s charge based on the space a parcel takes rather than its mass: length times width times height divided by a divisor, commonly 5,000 for air freight. Couriers bill on whichever is greater, actual or volumetric.
In the UK and EU, delivery charged with taxable goods generally takes the rate of those goods — so delivering zero-rated books is zero-rated and delivering standard-rated goods is standard-rated. In the US it varies by state.
Charging at cost is the easiest position to defend, and shipping is one of the few lines a customer can price-check. If you charge more, charge a round handling figure openly rather than inflating the carrier cost.
Delivery is free above a set order value and charged below it. The threshold should sit comfortably above your average order value, so it pulls orders up rather than giving away delivery on orders that were coming anyway.
