Fix an invoice CSV: delimiters, quoting, encoding, dates and amounts.
Or drop a .csv file here
The Invoice CSV Formatter rewrites an invoice CSV so it imports: the delimiter converted, quoting fixed, ragged rows reported, dates normalised, amounts stripped of symbols and separators, and a UTF-8 mark added if Excel needs one.
A CSV that will not import is nearly always one of five things: the wrong delimiter, a quote in the wrong place, dates in the wrong order, amounts with thousands separators, or an encoding Excel guessed wrongly.
Paste or drop the file and this rewrites it properly. The delimiter is detected and converted, every field is quoted only where it needs to be, ragged rows are padded or reported, dates are normalised to one format, and amounts are stripped of currency symbols and separators so they import as numbers rather than text.
A preview shows the first rows as columns, so a file that fell apart is obvious before you download it. Everything runs in your browser, which for a customer list is the only sensible place.
Detected, then written as you choose.
Only where a field needs it.
Listed, and padded if you want.
Normalised so they import as values.
See it before you download.
The delimiter is detected.
Delimiter, quoting, dates, amounts and BOM.
The columns as they will be.
And import it.
Usually an unescaped delimiter or a stray quote. Ragged rows are listed, and you can pad them to the header width.
It tells Excel the file is UTF-8, which is what stops accented names arriving as mojibake.
It removes currency symbols and thousands separators so they import as numbers. The values themselves are not changed.
