The Invoice Data Extractor reads an invoice PDF, scan or photo in your browser and pulls out every field — number, dates, both parties, tax, totals and line items — checking the arithmetic as it goes, and exports the result as JSON, CSV or a real Excel workbook.
Typing invoices into an accounting system is the work nobody wants and everybody has. The data is right there on the page — supplier, number, dates, tax, total, lines — and getting it out is either an expensive subscription or twenty minutes a batch.
Drop a PDF, a scan or a photo of an invoice, or paste the text. A PDF with a text layer is read exactly, character for character. A scan is rendered and read with OCR, which is a guess and is labelled as one, with a confidence figure. Then every field is located by its label the way a person reads it: invoice number, issue and due dates, both parties, tax numbers, rate and amount, the line items, and the total.
What it found is shown beside what it did not, so a field that is missing is obvious rather than silently blank — and the arithmetic is rechecked, because a total that does not match its lines is usually an OCR fault. Export as JSON, CSV or a real .xlsx workbook. Nothing is uploaded: the PDF reader and the OCR engine are fetched once and then run on your machine.
A real PDF is read exactly; only scans need OCR.
Scans and photos read in the browser, with confidence.
A total that does not match its lines is flagged.
JSON, CSV and a genuine .xlsx workbook.
The invoice stays on your machine.
A PDF, a JPG or PNG scan, a photo, or pasted text.
A text PDF is instant; a scan takes a few seconds a page for OCR.
Every field shows what was found and where it came from.
JSON for an API, CSV for a spreadsheet, or a real Excel workbook.
Yes. A PDF with no text layer is rendered page by page and read with OCR in your browser. It is slower and it is a guess, so a confidence figure is shown and the figures are worth checking against the original.
No. The PDF reader and the OCR engine are downloaded to your browser and run there. The invoice never leaves your machine, which is the difference between this and every extraction service.
Because the label was unusual. It reads fields by their labels — "Invoice No.", "Total due" — and an invoice that labels its total "Zu zahlen" in a language it does not know will hide it. Everything unrecognised is still listed as a candidate.
On a PDF with a text layer, the text is exact and the fields are as good as their labels. On a photo, accuracy depends on the photo; straight, well-lit and in focus is worth more than megapixels.
Drop several files and each is read in turn, with one row per invoice in the CSV and Excel exports.
