Reconcile your ledger against a supplier statement or a bank export.
The Invoice Reconciliation Tool compares your ledger against a supplier statement, a customer remittance or a bank export, and answers the four questions a reconciliation always comes down to — with the difference in totals fully explained by the items listed.
Reconciling a supplier statement against your own purchase ledger is a job done once a month by somebody with two printouts and a pen, and it always comes down to the same four questions. What is on their statement and not in your ledger. What is in your ledger and not on their statement. What appears on both but for a different amount. And what nets to the difference between the two totals.
This answers all four from two pasted lists. It matches on invoice number first, then on amount and date, and reports every unmatched item on each side with its value. The difference between the two totals is always fully explained by the items listed, which is what makes a reconciliation a reconciliation rather than a comparison.
It works equally well the other way round — your sales ledger against a customer’s remittance, or either against a bank export — because the problem is the same shape whichever direction the money is going.
Matched, only theirs, only yours, different amounts.
The unmatched items account for it exactly.

Comparing a supplier’s statement of what you owe them against your own purchase ledger, and explaining every difference. It catches missing invoices, duplicate postings and credit notes that never arrived, and it is one of the highest-value monthly controls a small business has.
It was never received, it was received and not posted, or it was posted to the wrong account or period. It can also be an invoice you disputed and they never credited.
Usually a credit note applied on one side and not the other, a settlement discount taken but not agreed, or a currency conversion at a different rate. The tool lists them so each can be checked individually.
Yes. Paste the bank lines as the second list and it matches on amount and date. Bank references rarely match invoice numbers exactly, so expect more amount-based matches and use the payment tracker for allocation.
