About the Invoice Bank Transfer Generator
Bank transfer instructions fail in predictable ways. The payer uses the wrong rail, sends an international wire when a SEPA transfer would have been free, leaves off the reference, or types one digit of the account number wrong. Each of those costs a week and several emails.
This writes instructions for the rail your payer will actually use: UK Faster Payments with a sort code and account number; SEPA with an IBAN and BIC; US ACH with a routing and account number; an international SWIFT wire with the bank’s address and a charges instruction; or UPI with a VPA. Each block lists exactly the fields that rail needs, and nothing that would confuse it.
The IBAN is checked with the mod-97 checksum and the routing number with its own, and for euro payments an EPC QR code is generated so a European payer can scan and pay. Copy the block onto an invoice, into an email, or onto a supplier form.
