Turn forum BBCode into safe, escaped HTML — lists, quotes, code and colours.
The BBCode to HTML Converter turns forum markup into escaped, balanced HTML — lists, quotes, code blocks, colours and links — with a live preview of the result.
BBCode is what forum posts have been written in for twenty-five years, and it is still what phpBB, MyBB, vBulletin, XenForo and countless game communities store. Moving those posts to a modern site, a blog or a static export means turning them into HTML.
Paste BBCode and get HTML. Bold, italic, underline, strike, colour, size, font, alignment, quotes with attribution, code blocks, spoilers, lists — both bulleted and numbered — images, links, email addresses and tables are all handled. Tags are matched as pairs rather than replaced one by one, so an unclosed [b] cannot bleed into the rest of the post, anything inside [code] is left exactly as written, and every character that is not a recognised tag is escaped. That last part matters: it means a post containing HTML or a script tag cannot become markup on your page.
Everything that is not a recognised tag is escaped, so a post cannot inject markup.
javascript: and data: links are rewritten rather than passed through.

Yes. Everything that is not a recognised BBCode tag is HTML-escaped, and javascript: or data: URLs inside [url] are rewritten, so a hostile post cannot inject markup or script.
b, i, u, s, url, email, img, quote, code, list with [*], color, size, font, center, left, right, table, tr, td, th, h1–h3 and spoiler.
It is left visible as text and listed in a note, so nothing disappears silently — forums each have their own extra tags.
It is closed at the end of the post. Tags are tracked as a stack, so the HTML always comes out balanced.
