The Word to HTML Converter turns a .docx into clean semantic markup — real headings, lists, tables and quotes — instead of the span-and-style soup Word’s own export produces.
Word’s own “Save as Web Page” produces markup nobody wants: hundreds of span tags, inline styles, conditional comments for Office, and a folder of files beside it. Pasting from Word into a CMS is worse — it brings the same rubbish in with it and breaks the site’s styling.
Drop the .docx here and get HTML built from the document’s structure instead: real h1 and h2 headings from Word’s heading styles, proper ul and ol lists, tables with rows and cells, blockquotes, bold and italic. Images can be embedded as data URIs so the HTML stands on its own, or left out entirely. Take just the content to paste into a CMS, or a complete page with simple styling. The conversion runs in your browser through mammoth, the library built for exactly this job.
Heading styles become h1–h6, lists become ul and ol, quotes become blockquote.
None of the span tags, inline styles or Office conditional comments.
Pictures become data URIs so the HTML needs no separate files.
See the rendered result before you copy the markup.
The document is never uploaded.
Read on your device, never uploaded.
Just the content, or a complete HTML page.
Embed them as data URIs, or leave them out.

Pasting carries Word’s inline styles and span tags into your page. This reads the document’s structure and writes clean semantic HTML — headings are headings, lists are lists.
No. A .doc from Word 97–2003 is a different, binary format. Open it in Word or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
They become data URIs inside the HTML, so there are no separate files to upload. That makes the HTML larger, so you can also leave them out.
Structural ones are: Heading 1 becomes h1, Quote becomes blockquote, lists become ul or ol. Fonts, colours and spacing are left to your site’s CSS, which is the point.
