About the Excel to CSV Converter

Almost every system that imports data wants CSV, and almost every person who has that data has it in Excel. Saving as CSV from Excel works until it does not: it exports only the active sheet, it uses your computer’s list separator rather than the one the importer expects, and it can quietly reformat dates on the way out.

Drop a workbook here and every sheet is listed, so you can convert the one you need. Choose comma, semicolon, tab or pipe, decide whether cells come out as Excel displays them or at full underlying precision, and write dates as plain ISO 8601. The UTF-8 BOM option keeps accented and Bangla text intact when the CSV is opened back in Excel. .xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb and OpenDocument .ods files are all read, in your browser — the workbook is never uploaded, which matters when the sheet holds payroll, customers or anything else that should not be sent to a stranger’s server.

Key features of the Excel to CSV Converter

Every sheet listed

Pick which sheet to export; the file name includes the sheet so downloads never collide.

Four delimiters

Comma, semicolon, tab or pipe — whichever the system on the other side expects.

Dates you can read

Export dates as ISO 8601 instead of whatever the sheet happens to display.

Displayed or underlying values

Take what the cell shows, or the full-precision value stored behind the formatting.

Excel-safe encoding

A UTF-8 BOM keeps accented and Bangla text intact when the CSV is reopened in Excel.

How to use the Excel to CSV Converter

    Drop the workbook in

Choose or drag an .xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb or .ods file. It is read on your own device.

  2. 2

    Pick the sheet

Every sheet in the workbook is listed; pick the one you want to export.

  3. 3

    Set the delimiter and dates

Comma for most importers, semicolon for European Excel, and ISO dates for anything technical.

  4. 4

    Download the CSV

Save the file, or copy the text straight into whatever is waiting for it.

Frequently asked questions

It converts one sheet at a time, because a CSV file holds exactly one table. Pick each sheet in turn and download it — the file name includes the sheet name so they do not overwrite each other.
