About the Unpaid Invoice Tracker

A list of unpaid invoices is not a plan. What turns it into one is knowing which of them needs something today, and what that something is — because chasing everything every week trains customers to ignore you, and chasing nothing lets debts age past the point where they are easy to recover.

This takes the list and produces the action. Every invoice is placed on a seven-stage reminder ladder by how overdue it is: a courtesy note before the due date, a neutral note on the day, a first reminder at a week, a second at a fortnight, a firm one at thirty days, a final notice at sixty, and a letter before action at ninety. The ones that need something today are listed first.

For each, it shows the stage, the register that stage calls for, and the message — so the list is not a reminder to do some work, it is the work. Everything stays in your browser, which for a list of who owes you money is the whole point.

Frequently asked questions

Roughly weekly, escalating each time. Daily trains people to ignore you; monthly lets a debt age past the point where recovery is easy. The escalation matters more than the frequency.
