Expand a seed keyword into hundreds of long-tail variations.
The head term everything expands from. "merino socks", not "socks".
Modifier sets
Every phrase is produced both with and without each location.

The Long-Tail Keyword Generator expands one seed keyword using the modifier sets that produce real long-tail searches — questions, comparisons, commercial qualifiers, audience and use-case terms, prepositions and alphabet prompts — with your own locations multiplied in. Candidates, not evidence: the volume check happens elsewhere and the page says so.
Enter a seed keyword and the generator expands it with the modifier sets that produce real long-tail searches: question words, comparison phrases, commercial modifiers, audience and use-case qualifiers, prepositions and the alphabet soup an autocomplete scrape produces. Add your own locations and the set multiplies again.
Long-tail keywords are worth the effort because they are where a smaller site can actually win. Nobody outranks the incumbents for "socks", but "are merino socks good for sweaty feet" is a real query with real intent and almost no competition for it. The catch is the same as with any generator: these are candidates, not evidence. Some of them are searched thousands of times a month and some have never been typed by anyone. Generate here, then check volume somewhere with an index, and write for the ones that survive both.
Questions, comparisons, commercial, audience, prepositions and alphabet prompts, each toggled separately.
Add your service areas and every phrase is produced with and without each of them.
The question set produces the natural phrasings people actually type, not templated stubs.
Keep only phrases in the length range you are targeting.
It generates plausible phrases; only a search index knows which were typed, and it does not pretend otherwise.

One per line. Every phrase is produced with and without them.
Trim by word count, then take the list to a volume tool to find the real ones.
Usually three or more words, with lower volume and clearer intent than a head term. The length is a symptom rather than the definition — what matters is that the searcher has told you far more about what they want.
Some are and some are not. A generator produces every plausible combination; only an index of actual searches can tell you which were typed. Use this to build the candidate list, then check the volume elsewhere.
Because they convert better and you can actually rank for them. A hundred visitors from "are merino socks good for sweaty feet" are further along than a thousand from "socks", and the competition for the phrase is a fraction of it.
Typing your seed keyword followed by each letter of the alphabet into a search box and recording the autocomplete suggestions. This tool generates the prompts; the suggestions themselves come from the search engine, since only it knows what people typed.
