About the Invoice Quantity Calculator

Most quantity errors on an invoice come from a unit mismatch. A wholesale order agreed in cases invoiced in units. Time tracked in minutes billed in hours. A price agreed per thousand charged per hundred. Each of them produces an invoice that is out by a factor rather than a rounding error, and a factor is the kind of mistake that ends a supplier relationship.

This converts between the units invoices actually use — cases and units, dozens, pallets and layers, minutes and billable hours, thousands for print and words for copy — and shows the line total each produces, so a mismatch is obvious rather than subtle.

It also answers the reverse question, which is the one clients ask: given a budget and a unit price, how much can they have? And it handles minimum billing increments, because a six-minute call billed in fifteen-minute units is a quarter of an hour, and pretending otherwise is how time gets given away.

Frequently asked questions

In whatever the price was agreed in, with the other shown in the description. A retailer needs the case price to pay you and the unit cost to set their own margin, so showing both is worth the extra column.
