About the Excel to JSON Converter

Spreadsheets are where data is collected and JSON is where it gets used — in an API request, a seed file, a test fixture or a config. Getting from one to the other usually means a script, a paid add-in, or pasting a confidential sheet into a website you know nothing about.

Drop the workbook here instead. Each row becomes an object keyed by the header row, or a plain array when there is no header, and every sheet can be exported at once as an object keyed by sheet name. Empty cells can be null, an empty string, or left out entirely; headers can be tidied into snake_case keys; dates come out as ISO 8601 text because JSON has no date type. .xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb and .ods are all read, entirely inside your browser.

Key features of the Excel to JSON Converter

Header row as keys

Each row becomes an object; duplicate headers get a numeric suffix rather than overwriting.

Every sheet at once

Export one sheet, or all of them as an object keyed by sheet name.

Empty cells your way

null, an empty string, or leave the key out of the record entirely.

snake_case keys

Turn "Order Date" into order_date so the JSON drops straight into code.

ISO dates

Dates and times become ISO 8601 strings, which every JSON parser understands.

Frequently asked questions

The second and later ones get a numeric suffix — name, name_1, name_2 — so no field silently overwrites another.
