About the Bijoy to Unicode Converter

For two decades Bangla was typed in Bijoy, where SutonnyMJ maps Bangla shapes onto Latin bytes. Open one of those documents without the font and you get Avwg evsjvq rather than আমি বাংলায়. The text cannot be searched, cannot be read on a phone, and cannot be pasted anywhere that does not have the font installed.

Paste that text here and get proper Unicode Bangla. Conjuncts, ref, ya-phala, ra-phala and the vowel signs are all handled, including the reordering Unicode requires: Bijoy stores ি before its consonant because that is where it is drawn, while Unicode stores it after. The result is real Bangla — searchable, copyable, correct in Word, on the web and on any phone, with no font to install. Government files, old newspaper archives, theses and legal documents all convert the same way, and none of it leaves your browser.
