A VAT invoice with both VAT numbers, a rate breakdown and reverse-charge wording.
The VAT Invoice Generator produces a compliant VAT invoice: both VAT numbers, a rate-by-rate breakdown, correct handling of VAT-inclusive prices, and a field for the reverse-charge wording a cross-border supply needs.
A VAT invoice is the document your customer relies on to reclaim the VAT you charged, so it has to carry a specific list of things: a sequential number, your VAT registration number, both addresses, the supply date, the rate, the net amount at each rate and the VAT at each rate, and the total.
This builder sets that out by default and handles the cases that go wrong. Mixed rates get one totals row each rather than an average. Prices that already include VAT are backed out correctly — 120 at 20% is 100 plus 20, not 120 plus 24. Zero-rated and exempt lines can sit on the same invoice as standard-rated ones. And the tax note field carries the wording a reverse-charge supply needs, which is what most templates leave you to write from memory.
Standard rates for every currency in the list are filled in when you pick one, so a UK invoice starts at 20%, an Irish one at 23% and a Swiss one at 8.1%.
£120 at 20% is £100 plus £20, not £120 plus £24.
Standard, reduced, zero-rated and exempt lines on one invoice.
A tax note field for the Article 196 or domestic reverse-charge statement.
Choosing a currency fills in that country’s standard rate.

And your customer’s, which is required for a cross-border B2B supply.
Whether your prices already contain the VAT or it is added on top.
Use per-line rates when standard, reduced and zero-rated goods appear on one invoice.
The tax note field prints under the totals; the standard EU wording is in the FAQ below.
PDF for the customer, UBL for a customer that wants a structured e-invoice.
A unique sequential number, your name, address and VAT number, the customer’s name and address, the invoice date, the time of supply, a description of the goods or services, the rate of VAT and the amount excluding VAT for each rate, the total excluding VAT, the VAT charged, and the total.
For an intra-EU B2B supply of services the usual wording is "Reverse charge: VAT to be accounted for by the recipient under Article 196 of Council Directive 2006/112/EC". UK domestic construction services use different wording. Put it in the tax note field.
Divide by 1 plus the rate. At 20%, a £120 inclusive price is £100 net and £20 VAT. Multiplying the inclusive price by 20% gives £24 and is wrong — set the tax treatment to inclusive and the tool does it correctly.
Yes, and you must show each rate’s net amount and VAT separately. Turn on per-line tax and the totals will list one row per rate.
No — and you must not issue one or show a VAT line. Leave the rate at zero and the tax fields empty, and issue a plain invoice instead.
