Katha, bigha, decimal, kani and acre — the units a Bangladeshi deed is written in.
Move between kilo, mega, milli, micro, nano and every SI prefix — exactly.
The Metric Prefix Converter moves a value between any two of the 25 SI prefixes, from quecto to quetta, by shifting the decimal point on the digits themselves so every result is exact.
Metric prefixes are how the SI system scales one unit across thirty orders of magnitude: a kilo is a thousand, a milli a thousandth, a micro a millionth. Moving between two prefixes is only a matter of shifting the decimal point — but counting the places correctly is exactly where mistakes happen.
Enter a value, choose the prefix it has and the prefix you want, and optionally the unit — ohms, farads, metres, bytes, anything. The converter shifts the decimal point on the digits themselves rather than doing floating-point arithmetic, so 2.2 µF becomes exactly 2200 nF with no rounding noise. It covers all 25 prefixes, including ronna, quetta, ronto and quecto added in 2022, and lists the value under every prefix at once.
Digits are shifted rather than multiplied in floating point, so there is never any rounding noise.
Includes ronna, quetta, ronto and quecto, added to the SI in 2022.
Type a unit symbol — Ω, F, Hz, m, W — and it is attached to every result.
The result explains how many places the decimal point moved and in which direction.
A table lists the value under all prefixes with their powers of ten.
Any plain number, including negatives and E notation such as 6.02e23.
Pick the prefix the value has and the one you need.
Type a unit symbol such as Ω, F, m or W so results read naturally.
See how many places the point moved, and copy the value under any prefix from the table.
Multiply by 1,000. There are a thousand micro-units in one milli-unit, so 2.5 mA is 2,500 µA.
Ronna (10²⁷), quetta (10³⁰), ronto (10⁻²⁷) and quecto (10⁻³⁰), adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measures in November 2022.
In the SI system kilo always means 1,000. The binary prefixes kibi, mebi and gibi are the ones that mean 1,024, 1,024² and 1,024³.
Because µ is not on most keyboards. Component values such as 10uF use the letter u as a stand-in for micro.
