About the MOV to MP4 Converter

MOV is Apple’s QuickTime container: what an iPhone records, what a Mac screen recording produces, and what Final Cut exports. Send one to a Windows machine, an Android phone or a web platform and it is a coin toss whether it plays.

The conversion runs in your browser through ffmpeg.wasm — the real ffmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded: a wedding video, a client recording or an unreleased track never leaves your machine. The engine is a one-off download of about 32 MB, after which your browser caches it and every later conversion starts immediately.

The MP4 that comes out uses H.264 video and AAC audio with faststart metadata, which is the combination every device, browser and social platform accepts. Choose the quality and encoding speed, scale to 1080p or 720p, change the frame rate, trim to a section or remove the audio. Where the MOV already holds H.264 video, the picture stays very close to the original.
