About the JSON Invoice Generator

JSON is how invoices travel between web applications: into an API, out of a database, across a webhook. The trouble with invoice JSON is that everyone invents their own shape, and the shapes differ in the places that matter — whether a line total includes tax, whether a discount is a percentage or an amount.

This builds the invoice in a normal editor and writes it as JSON that answers those questions explicitly: every line carries quantity, unit price, discount, tax rate, tax and total; the totals block separates subtotal, taxable amount, tax by rate, shipping, withholding and balance due. Numbers are numbers, dates are ISO 8601, and empty fields are left out rather than sent as empty strings.

It also produces the invoice as EN 16931 model JSON — the semantic model behind European e-invoicing, useful as an intermediate format — and a JSON Schema (draft 2020-12) of the export, so the receiving side can validate what arrives. Everything is generated in your browser.
