How this roll compares to the average
Randomness comes from the browser's cryptographic generator rather than Math.random, which is measurably biased over a long session. The probability figures are exact for the notation you entered, computed rather than simulated.
The Dice Roller handles any standard dice notation — 3d6+2, 1d20, 4d8-1 — showing every individual die alongside the total, with advantage, disadvantage and exploding dice modes and a probability panel.
Roll any combination of dice using standard notation — 3d6+2, 2d20, 1d100 — with every individual die shown alongside the total. Advantage and disadvantage rolls are supported, as is exploding dice, and a running history keeps the last rolls visible.
Randomness comes from the browser's cryptographic random number generator rather than Math.random, which matters more than it sounds: the usual generator is fast but statistically weak, and over a long session its bias is measurable. A statistics panel shows the theoretical minimum, maximum, mean and the probability of hitting or exceeding a target, which is the number that actually matters at a table.
Multiple groups and modifiers, so 2d6+1d8+3 works as written.
Roll twice and take the higher or lower, with both results shown.
Uses the browser secure generator rather than Math.random, which is measurably biased over a long session.
Minimum, maximum, mean and the chance of beating a target number.
The last rolls stay visible, so a disputed result can be checked.

Normal, advantage, disadvantage or exploding dice.
Every individual die is shown, along with the modifier and total.
Minimum, maximum, average and the chance of beating a target number.
Roll three six-sided dice, add the results together, then add two. The first number is how many dice, the second how many sides, and the modifier is applied to the total.
Advantage rolls twice and takes the higher result; disadvantage takes the lower. On a d20, advantage raises the average from 10.5 to about 13.8.
It uses the browser cryptographic random number generator, which is far better distributed than the usual Math.random and is the same source used for security-sensitive work.
A rule where rolling the maximum value lets you roll that die again and add it, repeating while you keep rolling maximums. It gives a long tail of unusually high results.
