Converted on your device — the file is never uploaded
The OGG to MP3 Converter turns Vorbis and Opus audio into MP3 for the many devices that refuse to play them, with bitrate, resampling and trimming.
OGG Vorbis and Opus are technically excellent and completely free of patents, which is why Wikipedia, Firefox, Audacity and a great many games use them. They are also the formats that Apple devices, most car stereos and plenty of editing software simply will not open.
The conversion runs in your browser through ffmpeg.wasm — the real ffmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded: a wedding video, a client recording or an unreleased track never leaves your machine. The engine is a one-off download of about 32 MB, after which your browser caches it and every later conversion starts immediately.
Drop the .ogg, .oga or .opus file, pick a bitrate, and get an MP3 that plays anywhere. Resampling, channel selection, trimming and loudness normalisation are all available. Since both formats are lossy, this is a re-encode: 192 kb/s or more keeps the second generation of loss out of earshot.
Both codecs are decoded, whatever the extension.
64 to 320 kb/s, with the trade-off explained.
The formats Wikipedia, Firefox and many games use.
Give a start time and a length to take just the part you need.
ffmpeg runs inside the browser tab, so the file never leaves your computer.
.ogg, .oga and .opus are all read.
192 kb/s and above for music.
Sample rate, channels, trimming, loudness.
An MP3 for the device that refused the OGG.
Apple has never supported Vorbis in its media stack, and many car and hi-fi systems only decode MP3 and AAC. Android handles OGG fine.
Yes. Opus files, with either an .opus or an .ogg extension, are read and converted the same way.
One generation of lossy re-encoding. At 192 kb/s or higher that is inaudible in normal listening; at 128 and below it starts to show on music.
Yes, where they are plain OGG files. Audio packed inside a game archive has to be extracted first.
