Annual marketing budget
—
The Marketing Budget Calculator sets a total budget as a percentage of revenue and splits it across paid, content, email, social and tooling, showing annual and monthly amounts for every line.
Most marketing budgets start as a share of revenue, then get argued over channel by channel. This calculator does both halves in one place: the total, and where it goes.
Enter your annual revenue and the percentage you intend to reinvest, then set the split across paid advertising, content and SEO, email, social and tooling. You get the annual and monthly budget for the whole programme and for every channel, with a warning if the percentages do not add up to 100. Common guidance puts overall marketing spend somewhere between 5% and 15% of revenue, with established businesses at the lower end and those chasing growth or launching something new nearer the top.

Marketing budget = Annual revenue × Budget percentage. $1,200,000 in revenue at 8% gives a marketing budget of $96,000 a year, or $8,000 a month.
There is no single right answer, but commonly cited guidance falls between roughly 5% and 15% of revenue. Established businesses defending a position tend towards the lower end; businesses in a growth push, a new market or a crowded category tend to spend more.
Start from where your customers actually came from last year rather than a template. A common approach is to keep the majority in proven channels and ring-fence a smaller share — often 10-20% — for testing new ones.
That depends on how your finance team accounts for it. Programme-only budgets cover media, tools and agencies; fully-loaded budgets include headcount, which makes the percentage of revenue look considerably higher. Just be consistent about which one you are quoting.
