About the KML to GPX Converter

A route planned in Google Earth or My Maps is a KML file, and no GPS watch or handheld will read it. They all read GPX. So the route you have carefully drawn cannot get to the device that needs to follow it.

Paste or drop the KML and get GPX. Placemark points become waypoints with their names and descriptions, and LineStrings become tracks — or routes, if the path is one to follow rather than one already walked. Elevation is carried across where the KML has it, and the total distance is calculated so you can sanity-check the result. The output is GPX 1.1, the version Garmin, Strava, Komoot, OsmAnd and Gaia all read.
