About the Invoice in AED

VAT in the United Arab Emirates is 5%, and a registered business is identified by a Tax Registration Number that has to appear on every tax invoice. The rules are specific about what else does: the words "tax invoice", a sequential number, the date and the date of supply where they differ, both parties’ details, the customer’s TRN where they are registered, the rate, the taxable amount and the tax — and the tax amount must be shown in dirhams even when the invoice is in another currency.

Exports outside the GCC implementing states are generally zero-rated, and a supply to a designated zone can be outside the scope entirely, so the rate on the page is a decision rather than a default.

Payment is by local transfer to an IBAN, which in the UAE is 23 characters beginning AE. Cheques remain common for larger commercial payments, and an invoice that names the payee exactly as the bank holds it avoids a rejected deposit.
