Molarity Calculator
Molarity, moles, mass or volume, plus dilutions.
Area, perimeter, surface area and volume for every common shape.
The Geometry Calculator covers the standard shapes in one place: area and perimeter for nine 2D shapes, surface area and volume for six 3D solids. Every result is printed with the formula and the substituted values, so the page works as a reference as well as a calculator.
One calculator for the standard shapes. In two dimensions it handles the rectangle, square, triangle, circle, ellipse, trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus and regular polygon, returning area and perimeter. In three it covers the cube, box, cylinder, sphere, cone and pyramid, returning surface area and volume.
Every result is printed with the formula and the substituted values, so the page works as a reference as well as a calculator. That matters for the shapes people half-remember: the area of a trapezoid is the average of the two parallel sides times the height, and a cone's surface area needs the slant height rather than the vertical one, which the calculator derives for you from the radius and height.

Each answer prints the formula and the substitution, which is what makes it usable as a reference.
A cone's surface area needs the slant height rather than the vertical one, and the calculator works it out from the radius and height.
The fields change to exactly the dimensions the chosen shape needs, so nothing is ambiguous.
Pick whether you are working with a flat shape or a solid.
The input fields change to match the dimensions that shape needs.
Results are calculated as you type, with the formula shown beneath each one.
Area is the space inside a shape, measured in square units. Perimeter is the distance around its edge, measured in linear units. For a circle the perimeter is called the circumference.
Average the two parallel sides and multiply by the perpendicular height. With parallel sides of 8 and 12 and a height of 5, that is 10 x 5, which is 50.
The distance from the apex of a cone or pyramid down the sloping surface to the base edge, not the vertical height. It is found with Pythagoras from the radius and the vertical height, and the surface area formula needs it.
Half the perimeter times the apothem, the distance from the centre to the midpoint of a side. The calculator works out the apothem from the side length and the number of sides.
