Invoice Address Formatter
Format a billing address the way the destination country writes it.
The customs document a cross-border shipment needs: HS codes, origin and Incoterms.
The Commercial Invoice Generator produces the customs document a cross-border shipment needs: HS codes and country of origin per line, the Incoterm and named place, gross and net weights, package counts and a signed declaration.
A commercial invoice is not a request for payment — it is the document customs uses to decide what a shipment is, where it came from and what duty is owed on it. Get it wrong and the parcel stops at the border, which costs far more than the paperwork did.
This builder adds the fields a customs invoice needs and a normal one does not: an HS commodity code and country of origin per line, the Incoterm that says who pays freight and duty, gross and net weights, the reason for export, and a signed declaration that the information is true and correct. The unit column is on, because customs values goods by quantity and unit, not by a lump sum.
It prints on a layout designed to be read by a person in a hurry, and because it runs in your browser you can produce one for every shipment without a subscription or a courier account.
The commodity classification customs values and rates the goods by.
Who pays carriage, insurance, clearance and duty, stated plainly.
Gross and net weight and the package count every courier asks for.
Where the goods were made, not where they were shipped from.
The statement that the information is true and correct.
Customs needs to know what a thing is, not what you call it. "Cotton t-shirts, adult, knitted" beats "SS26 range".
One commodity code per line, and the country where the goods were made rather than shipped from.
DAP, DDP, EXW or FOB, with the named place. It decides who pays duty and freight.
Gross and net weight, and how many packages. Couriers ask for all three.
One travels with the goods, one goes to the buyer, one stays with you.
Customs authorities use it to classify goods, value them and calculate duty and import tax. It also acts as the seller’s record of the sale, but its primary audience is the border.
The Harmonised System code, an international six-digit classification for traded goods, often extended to eight or ten digits nationally. Every line on a commercial invoice should carry one.
Standard three-letter trade terms published by the ICC that say who arranges and pays for carriage, insurance, export and import clearance and duty. EXW puts almost everything on the buyer, DDP almost everything on the seller.
Yes. Anything crossing a customs border needs one, with a declared value even if no money changed hands. Mark it clearly as a sample or gift and give a realistic value — a declared value of zero is rejected.
Three is the usual convention: one attached to the shipment in a document wallet, one for the buyer, one for your own file. Some destinations ask for more.
