The Text Randomizer draws from a list rather than reordering it: one random item, a sample of any size, or the whole thing in random order. Entries can be weighted, draws can be with or without replacement, and every draw is kept on screen as a history.
This is the picker rather than the shuffler. Give it a list and it draws from it: one random item, a sample of any size, or the whole list in random order. It is the tool for choosing who goes next, picking a winner, selecting a random sample from a dataset or deciding what to have for dinner.
Draws can be with or without replacement, which is the difference between rolling a die repeatedly and dealing cards. Entries can be weighted by adding a multiplier, so an item can be given more chances than another — useful for a raffle where entries were bought in different quantities. The full draw history for the session is kept on screen, so a sequence of picks is auditable while you are working.
Write "name x3" and that entry gets three chances — the simple way to handle a raffle with different ticket counts.
Deal from a shrinking pool, or draw repeatedly from the full list like rolling a die.
Every pick stays on screen in order, so a sequence of draws is readable while you work.
The browser's secure random generator is used where available, falling back to the standard one.
The list and the history live only in the open tab and disappear when it closes.
One entry per line. Add a weight by writing "name x3" to give it three chances.
One item, a sample of a set size, or the entire list in random order.
Without replacement each item can be drawn once; with replacement it can be drawn again.
Every draw is added to the history on screen, so you can see the whole sequence.
Without replacement, an item that has been drawn is taken out of the pool, so a list of ten gives ten different results. With replacement it stays in and can be drawn again, like rolling a die repeatedly.
Write "name x3" at the end of the line and that entry gets three chances instead of one. It is the simple way to handle a raffle where people bought different numbers of tickets.
It uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator where available, falling back to the standard one. Both are far better than anything a person can do by hand.
No. The list and the draw history exist only in the page while it is open, and both are gone when you close the tab. Nothing is uploaded.
