Count how many times specific words or phrases appear in a text.
Delete blank lines, or collapse runs of them down to one.
Remove Empty Lines strips the blank lines out of a text or list, including the ones that only look empty because they contain a space or a tab — which is exactly the case a find-and-replace misses. You can remove every blank line or collapse runs of them down to one so paragraph breaks survive.
Blank lines arrive with almost every copy-paste. A web page gives you one between every row, a PDF gives you two, and an export gives you a line that looks empty but actually contains a space — which is why the obvious find-and-replace does not catch it.
This tool removes lines that contain nothing, and lines that contain nothing but whitespace, which is the case most tools miss. You can strip every blank line for a tight list, or collapse runs of them down to a single blank line, which is what you want when the blank lines are real paragraph breaks and only the doubled-up ones are noise.
A line containing just a space looks empty and is treated as empty, which is the case a plain find-and-replace never matches.
Turn runs of blank lines into a single one so real paragraph breaks stay while the extra gaps go.
Blank lines at the end are removed, with a switch to keep the single trailing newline that linters expect.
Everything that is not blank passes through exactly as it was, indentation included.

Any text with unwanted gaps between the lines.
Remove every blank line, or collapse runs of them down to one to keep paragraph breaks.
Lines containing only spaces or tabs look empty and are removed too, unless you say otherwise.
Copy the tightened text, with a count of how many lines were removed.
Because they are not actually empty — they contain a space or a tab. Searching for two consecutive line breaks will not match a line break, a space, and another line break. This tool treats whitespace-only lines as blank.
Use "collapse to one blank line" rather than "remove all". Runs of two or more blank lines become one, so paragraphs stay separated but the extra gaps go.
Yes, trailing blank lines are removed along with the rest. Many tools and code linters expect a single newline at the end of a file, so there is a switch to keep one.
No. Non-empty lines pass through exactly as they were, including their indentation and trailing spaces, unless you also switch on trimming.
