Decode Morse code back into plain English.
Morse Code to Text decodes dots and dashes back into English, and is deliberately forgiving about notation — dots as full stops or the letter O, dashes as hyphens, underscores or en dashes, and word breaks as slashes, pipes or just wider gaps.
Decoding Morse by hand means looking up each sequence in a table, which is slow and error-prone once a message runs past a few words. This does it instantly, and is forgiving about how the Morse is written.
Dots can be full stops or the letter O, dashes can be hyphens, en dashes, em dashes or underscores — every notation people actually use is accepted. Word separators can be slashes, double slashes, pipes or just a wider gap, and the tool works out which convention your input uses. Any sequence that is not valid Morse is reported with its position rather than silently becoming a gap, which matters when you are checking a transcription.
Full stops or Os for dots, hyphens or underscores for dashes, even mixed within one message.
Slashes, pipes and wider gaps are all recognised, so most transcriptions decode without editing.
Anything that is not valid Morse is listed with its position so you can fix the transcription.
Letters, digits, punctuation and prosigns are all covered.
The decode updates on every keystroke, which makes correcting a transcription quick.
Dots and dashes in any common notation, with spaces between characters.
Slashes, pipes or wider gaps are all recognised automatically.
The plain English appears immediately as you type or paste.

Dots as full stops or the letter O, dashes as hyphens, underscores, en dashes or em dashes. Mixed notation in the same message is handled, since transcriptions often are.
A slash, a double slash or a pipe is treated as a word break, and so is a gap noticeably wider than the gaps between characters. If your input uses none of those, the whole message decodes as one run of letters.
Either the sequence is not defined in International Morse, or the spacing has run two characters together. The tool lists the offending sequences with their positions so you can see which it is.
No, this works on written dots and dashes. Decoding audio needs signal processing to find the tone and measure the timing, which is a different kind of tool entirely.
