LinkedIn counts clicks as engagement and measures against impressions, which is why its rates look higher than other platforms.
Engagement rate

The LinkedIn Engagement Rate Calculator measures reactions, comments, reposts and clicks against impressions the way LinkedIn reports it, and also shows a social-only rate with clicks removed for fair comparison with other platforms.
LinkedIn is the outlier among the major platforms: its own analytics measure engagement against impressions and count clicks as engagement, which makes a LinkedIn engagement rate look considerably higher than the same post would score elsewhere. Comparing it straight against an Instagram number is comparing two different metrics.
Enter reactions, comments, reposts, clicks and impressions, and the calculator shows the full engagement rate the way LinkedIn reports it, plus a social-only rate with clicks stripped out for fair comparison with other platforms, and the click-through rate on its own.

Engagement rate = (Reactions + Comments + Reposts + Clicks) ÷ Impressions × 100. 610 interactions on 14,500 impressions is an engagement rate of about 4.21%.
LinkedIn counts any deliberate interaction with the post, and on a professional network a click through to an article or profile is a genuine signal of interest. It does mean LinkedIn engagement rates are not directly comparable with platforms that count only public interactions.
With clicks included and impressions as the base, a few percent is a normal result for company pages, and rates above that are strong. Strip clicks out and the figure typically drops sharply, which is why this calculator shows both.
LinkedIn reports against impressions, and that is the figure to use for post-level analysis. Engagement against followers is occasionally quoted for page comparisons, but it mixes content quality with how widely LinkedIn chose to distribute the post.
