Handicap index from your scores under the World Handicap System.
Adjusted gross score, course rating and slope rating for each.

Each round produces a score differential: (adjusted gross score − course rating) × 113 ÷ slope rating. The 113 is the slope rating of a course of average difficulty. Your index is the average of the best eight differentials from your last twenty rounds — which is why a handicap describes your potential rather than your average, and why most golfers play to it only about a fifth of the time.

Course handicap for the slope you entered
An unofficial calculator that implements the published World Handicap System method. An official index comes from your national association or club, which applies soft and hard caps and exceptional score reductions that a simple calculator cannot reproduce.
The Golf Handicap Calculator produces a handicap index from your recent rounds using the World Handicap System method, showing each score differential, and converts the index into a course handicap for any slope rating.
Work out a handicap index from your recent rounds using the World Handicap System method, then convert it into a course handicap for whichever course you are playing. Score differentials are calculated for every round you enter.
The system takes the best eight differentials from your most recent twenty rounds and averages them, which is why a handicap represents your potential rather than your average — a good golfer plays to their handicap only about a quarter of the time. Each differential adjusts your score for the difficulty of the course through its course rating and slope rating, so rounds played on very different courses become directly comparable.
Best eight differentials from the last twenty, using the official sliding table for fewer rounds.
So you can see which rounds are counting and which are being discarded.
Index × slope ÷ 113 plus the rating adjustment, for whichever tees you play.
Works from as few as three rounds, applying the correct adjustment for the count.
A handicap measures your best rounds, which is why you rarely play to it.
Adjusted gross score, course rating and slope rating for each.
Each round is converted into a score differential and shown.

Enter a slope rating to get the course handicap you would play off.
Each round gives a score differential: (adjusted gross score − course rating) × 113 ÷ slope rating. The handicap index is the average of the best eight of your last twenty.
The World Handicap System uses a sliding table: with three rounds it takes the lowest differential minus 2, and the number counted rises as you record more.
The index is portable and course-independent. The course handicap converts it for a specific set of tees: index × slope ÷ 113, plus a course rating adjustment.
Because it measures potential rather than average. It is built from your best recent rounds, so most golfers play to their handicap only about 20 to 25 percent of the time.
