The Emoji Text Generator does the two jobs emoji actually do: replacing words with their emoji, and decorating around text so a line stands out in a feed. A third mode spells words out in regional indicator symbols, which is how those large coloured word images are made.
Emoji do two different jobs in text. They replace a word — "pizza" becomes 🍕 — and they decorate around it, framing a line so it stands out in a feed where everything else is grey.
This does both. A built-in dictionary maps several hundred common words to their emoji, so a sentence can be partly or wholly converted, with the original word optionally kept alongside for anyone who cannot see the emoji. Decoration mode wraps or separates your text with an emoji pattern. There is also a letter mode that spells words out in regional indicator symbols, which is how those large coloured word images in social posts are made.
Several hundred common words mapped to their conventional emoji, with unmatched words left alone.
Show the emoji alongside the word rather than instead of it, which anyone using a screen reader needs.
Wrap or separate your text with an emoji pattern, which is what actually makes a line stand out.
Regional indicator symbols spell words as large coloured tiles.
The page notes that Apple, Google and Samsung draw the same emoji differently, sometimes changing its tone.
A caption, a post or a line you want to decorate.
Replace words with emoji, decorate around the text, or spell it in emoji letters.
Every matching word, or only some, so the text stays readable.
The result is plain Unicode, so it works in any app.
The same character, but drawn differently. Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung each draw their own set, and some differ enough to change the tone. Preview on the platform your audience uses before publishing.
Overused, yes. A screen reader announces the full name of every one, so a line ending in five emoji becomes a long unwanted announcement. Keep them out of the middle of sentences and use the "keep the word too" option.
A built-in dictionary of several hundred common words and their most conventional emoji. Words with no entry are left alone rather than being given something approximate.
Regional indicator symbols — the characters that form flags when paired — which render as large coloured letter tiles when used alone. They are what makes those oversized word images in social posts.
