Fingerprinted in your browser · nothing is uploaded and nothing on disk is touched
The Duplicate Image Finder fingerprints every image in a batch perceptually and groups the ones that match, so resized, re-compressed and lightly edited copies are caught — not just byte-identical files. Results are grouped with thumbnails and a similarity percentage, and nothing on your disk is touched.
A photo library accumulates duplicates in two forms: exact copies with different filenames, and near-copies that have been resized, re-compressed or lightly edited. Filename and file size comparison catches the first and misses the second entirely.
Perceptual hashing catches both. Every image is reduced to a 64-bit fingerprint of what it looks like, and any pair whose fingerprints differ by fewer bits than your threshold is flagged as a match. Resized copies, quality variants and re-saved versions all cluster together. Results are grouped with thumbnails and the similarity percentage, so you can see what has been matched before deciding what to delete.
Perceptual hashing matches a thumbnail to its original, which filename or file size comparison never will.
Strict for genuine duplicates, loose for burst shots and near-identical frames.
Matches are shown together with thumbnails, sizes and a similarity percentage rather than as a flat list.
The largest version in each group is marked, since it is usually the original worth keeping.
Nothing is uploaded and nothing on disk is touched — the tool reports, and the deleting is yours.
Drag a whole folder in. Every file is fingerprinted as it loads.
Strict finds near-identical copies; loose finds visually similar shots.

The largest version of each group is flagged, since it is usually the original.
Yes — that is the point of perceptual hashing. A thumbnail and its full-resolution original produce nearly identical fingerprints, which filename or size comparison would never match.
Strict for finding genuine duplicates. Loose for finding burst shots and near-identical frames, which will also match photos that merely look alike.
No. Nothing is uploaded and nothing on your disk is touched — the tool reports which files match, and deleting is up to you in your own file manager.
Comparison is pairwise, so time grows with the square of the count. A few hundred is comfortable; several thousand will take a while.
