About the Advertising Budget Calculator

Most ad budgets are set by picking a round number and hoping. Working backwards from the outcome is more defensible: decide how many conversions you need, then let the maths say what that costs.

Enter your conversion target, the landing page conversion rate you realistically expect, and your average cost per click. The calculator works out how many clicks that target requires, what those clicks cost, and therefore what the budget has to be — along with the resulting cost per conversion.

Add a value per conversion and it checks the plan against itself, showing projected revenue, profit and ROAS so you can see whether the budget you just calculated is one worth spending at all.

Frequently asked questions

Clicks needed = Target conversions ÷ Conversion rate. Budget = Clicks needed × Cost per click. Wanting 50 conversions at a 2.5% conversion rate needs 2,000 clicks, which at 1.80 per click means a 3,600 budget.
