Random Letter Generator
Draw random letters, with or without vowels and repeats.
Generate random numbers as formatted text, digits or words.
The Random Number Text Generator produces lists of numbers as formatted text — zero padded, delimited, prefixed, or written out in English words. It is the batch tool rather than the single-value one, which is what test data and reference codes actually need.
This generates random numbers as text rather than as a calculation, which is a different job from a number generator that gives you one value. What you usually need is a list: five hundred order numbers, a column of test prices, a set of zero-padded reference codes, or a batch of phone-shaped strings.
Numbers are produced in any range, as integers or decimals with a set number of places, and formatted the way the destination expects — zero padded to a fixed width, with thousands separators, with a prefix or suffix, or written out in English words. That last one is genuinely useful for cheque-style output and for testing how a layout copes when "42" becomes "forty-two".
Rejection sampling avoids the slight bias towards low values that a plain modulo introduces.
English words up to the billions, for cheque-style output and long-value layout testing.
Fixed-width identifiers that sort correctly as text and line up in a column.
Distinct values when the range allows it, with a clear message when it does not rather than an endless loop.
One per line, comma separated, or a JSON array for a fixture.

Yes. The generator uses rejection sampling on the browser's random source, which avoids the slight bias towards low values that a plain modulo produces.
Yes, in English, up to the billions — "forty-two" and "one thousand two hundred and thirty-four". It is useful for cheque-style output and for testing layouts with unexpectedly long values.
Yes, with repeats switched off, as long as the range is large enough to supply them. If you ask for more unique numbers than the range contains, the tool says so rather than looping.
Fixed-width identifiers. An order number of 00042 sorts correctly as text and lines up in a column, where 42 does neither.
