A front-facing head-and-shoulders photo against a plain, evenly lit background
The Passport Photo Maker crops an ID photo to the exact millimetres your country requires and can tile it onto a 4x6 inch sheet for printing. Country presets load the correct dimensions, and a head-height guide shows the proportion the specification asks for, so you can see whether the crop is inside tolerance instead of guessing.
Passport photographs are a specification, not an art form: a fixed physical size, a head that fills a set proportion of the frame, and a plain background. Get any of those wrong and the application comes back.
Pick the country and the correct dimensions load automatically — 35 by 45 mm for the UK, EU and India, 2 by 2 inches for the United States, 50 by 70 mm for Canada, and so on. A head-height guide overlay shows the proportion the specification asks for, so you can see whether the crop sits inside the tolerance rather than guessing. Once the crop is right, the sheet layout tiles it across a standard 4 by 6 inch print at 300 DPI, which any photo lab or home printer will produce for the price of one print.
35x45 mm for the UK, EU, Australia and India; 2x2 inches for the US; 50x70 mm for Canada — the right numbers load automatically.
An overlay marks the band the crown and chin must fall between, which is the requirement most rejected photos miss.
Tiles the finished photo across a standard 4x6 inch sheet at 300 DPI with cut guides, so one print gives you six or eight copies.
Output is generated at the DPI the specification assumes, so the printed millimetres come out right.
An identity document photo is exactly the kind of file you should not upload, and here it never is.
Use a front-facing picture with a neutral expression and an evenly lit plain background.
The required millimetres and DPI load automatically, or type a custom size.
Drag and scale until the crown and chin sit inside the head-height band shown on the overlay.
Take the single photo, or the tiled 4x6 sheet to hand to a print shop.
It depends on the country. The UK, EU, Australia and India use 35 by 45 mm; the United States uses 2 by 2 inches (51 by 51 mm); Canada uses 50 by 70 mm. Selecting the country loads the right numbers.
The tool gets the dimensions, DPI and head proportion right, which is what most rejections are about. It cannot judge lighting, expression, glasses or background, so read your country's guidance for those.
Yes. Download the 4 by 6 inch sheet, print it at 300 DPI with scaling turned off — "actual size", not "fit to page" — on photo paper, and cut along the guides.
Not here. Take the photo against a plain light wall, or run it through the Background Remover first and place a white background behind it.
