The Image Flipper mirrors a picture horizontally, vertically or both. It only reorders pixels, so it is completely lossless and flipping twice hands back the exact original. The usual reasons are selfies, which most front cameras save unmirrored, and compositions where the subject faces out of the frame instead of into it.
Front cameras mirror what they show you and then save the unmirrored version, which is why selfies so often look subtly wrong. Flipping horizontally puts the picture back the way you saw it.
The other common reason is design: a subject facing out of the frame usually wants to face into it, and one flip fixes the composition. Both axes are available, and both can be applied at once, which is the same as a 180 degree rotation. A flip only reorders pixels, so it is completely lossless and flipping twice returns the exact original file.
No pixel value is recalculated, only reordered, so nothing degrades however many times you flip.
Horizontal, vertical, or both at once — which is the same result as a 180 degree rotation.
The result is drawn as soon as you click, so checking whether text has reversed takes no extra step.
PNG and WebP alpha channels survive the flip intact.

Horizontal mirrors left to right; vertical mirrors top to bottom.
A horizontal flip reverses writing in the picture, so look before you save.
Save the mirrored image at full resolution.
Yes. Only the order of the pixels changes; no value is recalculated. Saving as PNG or WebP keeps that exactly, and flipping twice gives you the original back.
Most front cameras preview a mirrored image but save the unmirrored one, so the face you see live is not the face in the file. A horizontal flip restores the version you are used to.
A flip reflects the image across an axis, which reverses text and handedness. A rotation turns it, which does not. Flipping both axes is equivalent to a 180 degree rotation.
Yes — a horizontal flip mirrors everything in the picture, writing included. That is worth checking before you save a screenshot or a photo of a sign.
