JPEG, PNG or WebP · processed on your device, never uploaded
The Image Compressor shrinks JPEG, PNG and WebP files on your own machine. Choose a quality level, watch the resulting file size update immediately, and stop at the point where the file is small but the picture still looks right. Nothing is ever uploaded.
Large images are the single most common reason a page loads slowly. This compressor re-encodes your image at a quality level you control and shows the resulting file size immediately, so you can find the point where the file is small but the picture still looks right.
Everything happens on your own machine using the canvas API — the image is never uploaded, which makes this safe for photos of documents, screenshots containing customer data, or anything else you would not want sitting on someone else's server. You can also switch the output format while compressing; converting a photographic PNG to WebP or JPEG often cuts the size by more than the quality slider ever will.
Compression runs on the canvas API in your browser, which makes it safe for screenshots containing customer data or photos of documents.
The output size updates as you drag, so you can find the exact point where the saving stops being worth it.
Original and compressed are shown together, because a percentage saving means nothing until you can see the picture.

Work is local, so large files are processed at the speed of your machine rather than your connection.
Drop a file onto the box or click to choose one. JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported.
Move the slider and watch the output size update. Around 75 to 85 percent is usually indistinguishable from the original.
The original and compressed sizes are shown side by side with the percentage saved.
Save the compressed image to your device.
No. The file is read and re-encoded entirely inside your browser. It never touches a network connection.
JPEG and WebP compression is lossy, so some detail is discarded. At 80 percent quality the loss is generally invisible at normal viewing size while the file is often less than half the original.
PNG is lossless and already efficient for flat graphics. Re-encoding a screenshot or logo as JPEG can increase its size. For those images, keep PNG or convert to WebP instead.
The only limit is your device memory. Very large images, above roughly 30 megapixels, may take a few seconds to process.
