Click-through rate
—
The Email Click Rate Calculator turns clicks and delivered emails into a click-through rate instantly, and adds the click-to-open rate once you enter unique opens, so you can tell a subject-line problem from a content one.
Click rate is the metric that survived the collapse of open-rate accuracy: a click is a deliberate act that privacy features do not fake. It tells you whether the content and the call to action earned anything.
Enter unique clicks and emails delivered for the click-through rate, then add unique opens for the click-to-open rate — the share of people who opened and then clicked. CTR judges the whole campaign, CTOR judges the email itself once the subject line has done its work, and reading them together tells you which one to fix.

Click-through rate = Unique clicks ÷ Emails delivered × 100. 420 clicks on 10,000 delivered is a CTR of 4.2%.
CTOR = Unique clicks ÷ Unique opens × 100. It measures how persuasive the email was for the people who actually opened it — 420 clicks from 2,450 opens is a CTOR of about 17%.
CTR is the campaign-level number to report, since it reflects the whole journey from inbox to click. CTOR is the diagnostic: a weak CTR with a healthy CTOR points at the subject line, while a weak CTOR points at the email body or the offer.
Published benchmarks commonly sit in the low single digits, often somewhere around 2-3%, but this varies sharply between newsletters, promotions and transactional sends. Track your own baseline per campaign type.
