Convert Base64 back to hexadecimal, with your choice of separator.
The Base64 to Hex converter decodes standard or URL-safe Base64 and writes the bytes as hex, with no separator, spaces or colons, in upper or lower case.
Going the other way: a Base64 string becomes the hex representation of the same bytes. This is the conversion you need when a system hands you a key or a digest in Base64 and the tool you are feeding it to wants hex — which is most command-line tooling.
The decoder accepts both alphabets, so a URL-safe string with hyphens and underscores works without you having to convert it first, and missing padding is added automatically. The hex output can be continuous, space-separated for a readable dump, or colon-separated to match the format OpenSSL and certificate tools print fingerprints in, in upper or lower case.
Hyphens and underscores are converted before decoding, so a JWT segment works exactly as pasted.
A string missing its trailing equals signs is padded before decoding rather than rejected.
Continuous for code, spaces for a readable dump, colons to compare against a certificate fingerprint.
Match whatever you are comparing the value against, since string comparison is case-sensitive even though hex is not.
Confirms the decoded length, which tells you at a glance whether a digest is the size it should be.
Standard or URL-safe, padded or not.
None for a continuous string, spaces for a readable dump, or colons for a fingerprint.
Lower case is the common default; upper case matches some certificate tools.
Take the result to your clipboard.
Yes. Hyphens and underscores are converted back to plus and slash before decoding, and missing padding is added, so a JWT segment works as pasted.
Usually it was truncated, or it contains a character from neither alphabet. Whitespace and line breaks are fine — those are stripped.
None when the hex is going into code or a config value. Colons when you are comparing against a certificate fingerprint. Spaces when a person has to read it.
Not to any parser — A and a are the same digit. It matters only for comparing two strings as text, so match whatever you are comparing against.
