Invoice in EUR
Bill in euro with VAT, a VAT number, SEPA details and the reverse charge.
Bill in taka with 15% VAT, a BIN, BEFTN details and lakh formatting.
The BDT builder sets VAT at 15% with the reduced sector rates available, carries the BIN and a Mushak challan reference, groups digits in lakh, writes the total in words, and takes BEFTN as well as bKash and Nagad details.
VAT in Bangladesh is 15% at the standard rate, with reduced rates of 5%, 7.5% and 10% for defined sectors, and a registered business is identified by a Business Identification Number that must appear on the invoice. For a VAT-registered supply the prescribed document is the Mushak 6.3 challan, and its reference belongs on any commercial invoice that accompanies it.
The presentation follows the subcontinental convention: amounts grouped as 12,34,567 rather than 1,234,567, and the total written out in words in lakh and crore, which is expected on the face of the document.
Payment is by BEFTN for interbank transfers, which needs the account number, the bank and the branch and routing number, or by RTGS for larger amounts. For smaller invoices, bKash, Nagad and Rocket are ubiquitous, and putting a mobile financial services number on the invoice alongside the bank details removes a step for most domestic customers.

The standard rate is 15%, with reduced rates of 5%, 7.5% and 10% applying to specified goods and services, and zero-rating for exports. The rate follows the supply rather than the supplier.
The prescribed VAT challan a registered supplier issues for a taxable supply in Bangladesh. Where one applies, the commercial invoice should carry its reference so the two documents can be matched.
The Business Identification Number issued by the National Board of Revenue on VAT registration. It identifies the supplier on invoices and challans in the same way a VAT number does elsewhere.
With the Indian digit grouping — the last three digits, then pairs — so twelve lakh is written 12,00,000. The total is also conventionally written out in words on the invoice.
