Turn 24-hour and military times into AM/PM, in bulk or inside text.
The 24-Hour to 12-Hour Converter turns 24-hour and military times into AM and PM — full lists or times inside text — with a choice of AM/PM style, leading zeros and seconds.
A train timetable, a flight itinerary, a server log or a rota from abroad gives times on the 24-hour clock, while plenty of readers — and a lot of American and South Asian forms — expect AM and PM. Working out that 17:45 is 5:45 PM is simple; doing it for forty entries without a slip is not.
Paste one time, a list, or any text, and every 24-hour time is converted to the 12-hour clock: full lines such as 18:30 or 1830 hours, and times inside sentences such as "arrival 21:35". Choose the AM and PM style — PM, pm, p.m. or P.M. — whether hours get a leading zero, and how seconds are handled. 00:00 becomes 12:00 AM and 12:00 becomes 12:00 PM, and a reference chart for the whole day is included.
PM, pm, p.m. or P.M., to match a style guide or a form.
Four-digit times such as 1830 and "1830 hours" are recognised.
Times inside sentences are replaced while everything else stays exactly as written.
Write 9:05 AM or 09:05 AM, whichever your system needs.
Every hour of the day is tabled with its 12-hour form and part of the day.
A list of 24-hour times, military times like 1830, or text containing them.
PM, pm, p.m. or P.M., with or without a leading zero.
Keep them only when given, always show them or drop them.
Converted times replace the originals; everything else stays as written.
12:00 AM, which is midnight. 00:30 is 12:30 AM.
For hours 13 to 23, subtract 12 and add PM, so 19:20 is 7:20 PM. Hours 1 to 11 add AM, 12 is PM, and 0 becomes 12 AM.
Yes, it means midnight at the end of a day and is sometimes used for closing times. It converts to 12:00 AM.
Both are correct. American style guides often prefer p.m. in running text; PM in capitals is common on signs, apps and schedules.
