URL to Text turns a long tracked address into something readable: the path as a decoded breadcrumb, the likely page title from the final segment, and every query parameter listed with its value — with the tracking ones labelled with what they actually do.
A tracked URL is a hundred characters of escapes hiding about six words of meaning. Working out what a link actually points at — and what it is carrying — means decoding it, splitting it and reading the parameters, which is three operations by hand.
This does all three. The path becomes a readable breadcrumb, with each segment decoded and unslugified. The final segment becomes the likely page title. Every query parameter is listed with its decoded value, and the recognised tracking parameters — utm_source, fbclid, gclid and their relatives — are labelled with what they are for, which is usually the most revealing part of a shared link.
utm_source, fbclid and gclid are named with what they are for, which is usually the revealing part.
Each segment decoded and unslugified, so the site structure is readable at a glance.
The same address with the tracking stripped, ready to share without passing on a click identifier.
From the final path segment, which is usually derived from the real page title.
Percent escapes resolved throughout, including multi-byte UTF-8 sequences.
A tracked link, a redirect target or any long address.
Each path segment decoded and turned back into readable words.
Every query parameter with its decoded value, tracking ones labelled.
The address with the tracking parameters stripped, ready to share.
Tags added to a link so an analytics tool can attribute the visit — utm_source names where it came from, utm_medium the channel, utm_campaign the campaign. They carry no meaning for the page itself and can always be removed.
Click identifiers added automatically by Facebook and Google Ads. They are unique per click, which means a shared link containing one can associate whoever clicks it with your original click.
For the person following the link, yes — the page is identical. It only affects the attribution the destination site records, which is why sharing a cleaned link is generally the polite thing to do.
From the last path segment, unslugified and capitalised. That is usually derived from the real title, so it is a good guess — but it is a guess, and the tool says so.
