Conversion rate
—
The Landing Page Conversion Calculator turns visitors, conversions and value per conversion into a conversion rate, total revenue and revenue per visitor, with optional cost and profit figures.
Conversion rate on its own can mislead. A page converting at 2% on high-value orders can be worth far more than one converting at 8% on cheap ones, which is why revenue per visitor is the figure worth comparing pages on.
Enter visitors, conversions and the average value of a conversion, and this calculator gives you all three at once: the conversion rate, the total revenue, and the revenue each visitor was worth. Add a traffic cost and it also works out cost per visitor and the profit left over.
Every figure is shown with the arithmetic behind it, so the numbers can go straight into a report without anyone having to take them on trust.

Rate, revenue and revenue per visitor, with the working underneath.
Conversion rate = Conversions ÷ Visitors × 100. 240 conversions from 8,000 visitors is a rate of 3%.
Revenue per visitor = Total revenue ÷ Visitors. It combines conversion rate and order value into one number, which makes it a fairer way to compare two pages than conversion rate alone.
It varies enormously by industry, traffic source and what counts as a conversion. Rates in the low single digits are common for ecommerce checkouts, while a simple lead form on well-targeted traffic often sits much higher. Comparing against your own past performance is more useful than against a published average.
Either, as long as you are consistent. Sessions count returning visits separately and so usually produce a slightly lower rate than unique visitors.
